Walking, Collecting, Making
My sculptural practice begins with walking—moving slowly through coastal landscapes and gathering fragments such as seed pods, bark, shells, and driftwood. Shaped by time, tide, and weather, these objects carry traces of place. A collage of senses—sound, smell, and touch—inspire the forms I create, embedding the landscape within the work.
In the studio, I work intuitively with porcelain, drawing with clay and slip through assembling, collaging, tearing, bonding, and balancing. Rather than following a fixed plan, I respond to the material as it changes, allowing the process to guide decisions. Volcanic glazes and multi-firing processes layer surfaces with depth and texture.
Each sculpture is placed with care. Between forms lie fragile points of connection—moments of quiet tension where stillness and balance are held.
This practice is about slowing down and listening, allowing material, memory, and place to meet in quiet dialogue.
