Walking, Collecting, Making

Josephine’s practice begins with walking coastlines, gathering fragments shaped by ocean, wind, and time. In the studio, she responds—forming porcelain into abstracted forms that whisper of distant realms. Layered glazes murmur seascape textures. Each piece holds memory—a silent, transcendent dialogue between body, clay, coastline, and sea.

A Sculptural Practice

Artist Statement

My work is a gentle exchange between body, porcelain, and landscape, guided by curiosity and an awareness of how time shapes the world. Each delicate piece reflects the fragility of nature, echoing the quiet connections between coastline and ocean and the slow, patient forces that form them.

Through my art, I seek to honour the beauty and resilience of the environment, inviting viewers into a quiet conversation with nature’s subtle rhythms and textures.
